The wait is over, and fans can rejoice, the two mega hip-hop stars, Drake and Future have come together for their new 11-track mixtape, What A Time To Be Alive. Rumor has it that the two made the trap heavy record in six days. The mixtape, which was swarmed with rumors and unconfirmed sources, has been made official and has been welcomed with open arms from fans of both parties. The two stay confident track by track on the new mixtape. Drake described the record to Rolling Stone by stating,
“It’s a little soundtrack for people that need it right now, I went to Atlanta for six days a couple weeks ago with the hopes of doing some songs with Future, and when you get around Future, it’s like a vortex, that guy can outwork anybody right now. It’s tough to see someone do four, five songs in one night and not try to match it.”
The two are at the top of their careers right now, with Drake releasing his own mix tape, If Your Reading This, It’s Too Late, partnering with Apple Music, releasing his own OVO Air Jordans, and a new album on the way. Future with his highly successful new album, DS2 album, sold out shows, and chart-topping collaborations. There is no denying that these two can’t do anything that they put their minds to, and this new mixtape proves just that. The mixtapes executive producer, Metro Boomin is the main producer on the 11 track mix and the songs are full of trap beats, and boastful lyrics that are so catchy and ready to add to your party or work out playlist. Standout tracks include, “Diamonds Dancing”, “Plastic Bag”, “Jumpman”, and “Digital Dash”. The songs are anthems for right now and it stays very true to the current “turn up” sound everyone has become accustomed to. Music & Other Drugs enjoyed this collaboration and think that is something that you can enjoy in your car, head phones, at a party, or while your doing your morning run.
