Sam Setton is ready to take 2019 by storm. Last year, Sam Setton took to the stage and performed live at The Peppermint Club (LA), and New York City’s Bowery Ballroom and Elsewhere. MaOD became fans of the sultry singer with the release of his 2016 track, “Stranger.” In 2018, he released one of our favorite songs of the year, “Santiago,” which has garnered over 100k plays on Spotify.
Today, Sam is back, releasing his first song of 2019, “Gum.” The unique pairing of “Gum’s” electronic production and Sam’s r&b vocals and storytelling make this track in a lane of its own. Setton’s reasoning for naming the song “Gum” is interesting. The song represents “the feelings of first falling in love and how amazing it can be, but also fleeting reminiscent of represents the burst of flavor when you first chew a piece of gum.”
To date, “Gum” is our favorite track to be released from Sam Setton. With the release of his new single, we are excited to see what NYC’s rising star has in store for 2019.
