Moonbabies is a dream pop duo that formed in 1997 in Malmö, Sweden. Carina Johansson Frick and Ola Frick, husband/wife duo, released their latest album Wizards on the Beach earlier this year, and are now preparing to release the deluxe edition of Wizards on the Beach which contains 12 additional tracks. To promote this release, Moonbabies has released their title track “Wizards on the Beach” which has been remixed by The Land Below. Erik Lindestad, who is The Land Below is an electronic producer “who creates electronic beats combined with airy layered vocals.” The Land Below talks about the remix and said:
“This remix was all about seeing how slow and heavy I could go without losing the momentum of the vocals. It’s a slippery slope, you don’t want the listener to fall asleep, but listening with closed eyes and with a dreamy head is good.”
Moonbabies is taking a leap from their dream pop genre and playing around with electronic tones throughout their records, and Music & Other Drugs love the direction they are going in. “Wizards on the Beach” (The Land Below Remix) is a perfect leading track for the release of their deluxe album. Ola and Carina’s voices melt together and create this unified tone that is out of this world. The Land Below’s productions put you in outer space and take you on this journey into Moonbabies dreamland. Check out their latest release, “Wizards on the Beach,” below. The deluxe edition of Wizards on the Beach will be released October 28th via Culture Hero Records.
