Brad Jones, who goes by his stage name KEEZ Jones, is a producer and performer from Oregon. KEEZ mixes different genres to complete his body of work. His main genres that are explored are reggae, r&b, pop, and hip-hop. Music & Other Drugs had the opportunity to listen to his latest record Water Creatures and know that some of our listeners will appreciate KEEZ. Water Creatures is 18 tracks that take for a ride. From our favorites “FEELS RIGHT,” “JACKNJILL,” and the reggae-inspired jam “Back in the Light,” there is something on here for everyone.
KEEZ has a long list of credits outside of his own music. He has had the opportunity to produce tracks for many artists, and even produce music for films. Most recently, he produced tracks for the blockbuster film Ant-Man and Neighbors trailers.
KEEZ Jones has also had the opportunity to work with and tour with The Cottonmouth Kings and Cherry Poppin’ Daddies. Currently, KEEZ Jones has formed a band, The Keez Band, who is preparing to embark on their very own tour.
With the release of Water Creatures, it is clear that KEEZ lives and breathes music. Music & Other Drugs appreciates and applauds his musicality and prowess to push the envelope of sounds. While we appreciate his risk, many listeners may not instantly understand this album. The direction of the album feels more like a compilation album featuring KEEZ and other artist, but it lacks a cohesive sound and story. After listening to Water Creatures, we also come to understand that creating a cohesive story and sound was not a goal of KEEZ and he just wanted to release some dope sounds.
KEEZ Jones, even after his release, continues to work on producing music everyday. Music & Other Drugs is interested to see what he comes up with next. Check out his latest album Water Creatures on his Bandcamp page.
