New York’s very own Carl Bailey has just released his official music video for his first single, “Under The Water.” The song, written by Carl Bailey and produced by 50,000 Dinar, is the first single off of Bailey’s VOX EP. The official music video, shot in black & white, puts all the focus on Carl as he takes us into his kaleidoscope world. The video was directed and shot by Cloaking Studios. Yan, from Cloaking Studios, describes his vision and inspiration behind the video.
“When I made the video, I was living in Brooklyn and it was winter. When I am in the city it affects me, it has a beat and a push that I feel at all times. This is what pushed people to move forward. It is also what pushes people into madness. When I first moved to city I would go to these underground spaces, and I would feel I was 15 years in the future at some dystopian party. These ideas carried into the work, I wanted to create a sense of futurism that was both bleak, and beautiful. It made sense to place Carl into an environment like this, as his music sits on a scale of turmoil and rejuvenation.”
Cloaking Studios shot two other music videos for Carl Bailey’s Vox EP. Carl “felt that [Cloaking Studios] work was a push forward and a direct visionary reflection of where I wanted to go visually.” The futuristic vibes in this video are stellar, and take “Under The Water” to another world. The intricate detailing in this video will keep you captivated from start to finish. Carl Bailey’s visage, in its perfect symmetry, is mesmerizing and it is as if his eyes are peering into your soul. Music & Other Drugs is loving the direction that Carl Bailey is going in musically and visually. Check out the visuals for “Under The Water” below.
