Last year, Music and Other Drugs traveled from Brooklyn down south to Houston, Texas for Day for Night, a festival where light and sound collide for an immersive experience. During last year’s festival, we saw Little Dragon, Thundercat, Banks, and the Houston legends: Lil’ Flip, Z-Ro, Lil’ Keke, Mike Jones, Paul Wall, and much more. In addition to the sound part of the festival, the light segment featured Björk Digital, as well as curated exhibits from artists and creatives from all around the world.
Yesterday, Day for Night unveil their 2017 lineup, and it is by far one of the most creative and diverse lineups we have seen for festivals, this year. The lineup features music from Tyler, The Creator, James Blake, Justice, Solange, Thom Yorke, Nine Inch Nails, as well as the classic 80-90’s group En Vogue, rising hip-hop superstar Cardi B. Many of our favorite indie bands and artists are also performing at Day for Night. HoodCelebrity, Jessy Lanza, and Princess Nokia are a few up-and-coming acts that we are excited to see at this year’s festival.
Day for Night also upped the visual game, featuring creatives in the field of sculpture, coding, and engineers. This year’s visual artists are Ryoji Ikeda, Matthew Schreiber, Conditional Studio + Processing Foundation, James Clar, Felicie D’Estienne D’Orves, Kyle McDonald, Ryoichi Kurokawa, Radio Soulwax, VT Pro, The Mill, Hovver, Playmodes, Theodore Fivel, Ekene Ijeoma, Cocolab, Sam Cannon, Vincent Moon and Priscilla Telmon, and Lina Dib.
Day for Night Festival is set to take place December 15-17, and passes are now on sale. General Admission and VIP passes can be purchased here. The complete lineup for Day for Night Festival can be found here.
