We have a treat for you today. We are kicking off Tuesday with already one of our favorite videos of 2018 so far. It comes from the incredibly talented, Bipolar Sunshine. The experimental singer is nothing short of an inspiration and his music expands to all sounds and genres. You may remember him from DJ Snake’s big hit “Middle” which showcased his soaring vocals. Bipolar Sunshine wanted to explore. Relocating from his native Manchester to Los Angeles, the songwriter – real name Adio Marchant – set about picking apart his music, exploring with fresh eyes, and fresh perspectives.
He is set to drop his new EP ‘Maginarium later this year, and judging by this first offering we are in for a special treat with this one. New single ‘Easy To Do’ kicks off the EP, with sounds of dark pop with a diasporic feel. The accompanying video “eludes to a feeling of release and freedom” he says, while nailing the “direction and sentiment that I’ve been trying to capture for some time.”
“I wanted the audience to feel like they’re watching a movie,” Adio insists. “Some Johnny Depp and Penelope Cruz in the movie Blow kinda feels.”
“The director Matilda Finn is someone I’ve wanted to work with for a while,” he explains. “Her cinematography is powerful and on point, and she got my vision. It’s exciting times for me visually, and I can’t wait to show more that I’ve been working on.”
The coming 12 months promise liberation, and evolution – if Bipolar Sunshine is under pressure, then he certainly doesn’t show it. Watch his new video above.
