On June 7th, soul singer, Adrian Daniel headlined Brooklyn’s Knitting Factory. Music and Other Drugs got the opportunity to see the rising star perform, and he showed us that he is the real deal. Before Adrian Daniel took the stage, the show featured two opening acts, Jay Bel, and Liana Bank$.
This was our first time hearing Jay Bel’s music, but instantly became fans of his sound. His flow was melodic and poetic, with raw in your face lyrics. His songs were personal, and Jay Bel took us into his world.
After Jay Bel, Queen’s own Liana Bank$ hit the stage. We are no stranger to Liana Bank$ and have featured her music several times here at MAOD. Her music comes to life on the stage. Her sensual and sexy stage presence added entertainment value to her performance. Liana brought two male dancers along with her, and the three cut the stage up.
After Liana Bank$ finished her set, Adrian Daniel’s team set up the stage. Complete with a band and background vocals, Adrian Daniel brought his set to life. As soon as Adrian hit the stage, he brought all of the energy to the Knitting Factory stage. Music and Other Drugs got the opportunity to see Adrian Daniel last May, where he opened up for Jordan Bratton. Adrian Daniel’s talent is incredible, and you can see the growth from last August until now. In April, Adrian Daniel released his album, Disillusions, on Billboard.com. Adrian performed cuts from the new album. Our favorites of the night were “Revolve,” and single, “Devoted.” The high-energy performance kept the crowd engaged from beginning to end. Overall, Adrian Daniel is perfecting his craft, and it shows in his music and performance. 2016 is looking to be a great year for the rising star. Check out his album Disillusions below.
