Music and Other Drugs would like to introduce you to Malaysian artist alextbh. He has released the stunning official video for his new single “still mine.” On the video, Alex describes:
“Soon as I was done producing the song, I knew I had to incorporate visuals. Just like the song, I want the video to depict an almost palpable sense of pain and loss, even though it’s tranquil at first look. It’s chaotic, but it’s also calm. That is how I felt about this guy — he wouldn’t reciprocate so I had a war in my mind, but he never knows..”
Living openly gay and unafraid to proudly embody his queer identity, alextbh is an anomaly among a highly conservative and unaccepting Malaysian society where the government has been outwardly and outspokenly opposed to the LGBTQ community. For him, music is not only an outlet for resistance but a platform to incite strength and resolve within his local (and global) community.
Not letting anything or anyone stop him, alextbh is showing the world that he is here to stay. Check out his new visual right here.
