Tommy Genesis heated up the summer with the release of her Charlie Heat produced track “100 Bad.” The track is raw and in your face, and what better way to amplify the track, with a kick-ass visual. Genesis self-directed and edited the “100 Bad” visual. Genesis speaks about the inspiration behind the visual:
“The ‘100 Bad’ music video turned out brighter than I expected. For the chorus, it was either puppies or girls, the tampon scene is sort of my DIY take on Kelis laying in candy – the cash scene is a direct reference to Tracey Emin’s “I want It All.” The outro is a champagne ejaculation and it’s supposed to make your uncomfortable – it’s a commentary on the male gaze.”
Tommy Genesis continues to push the envelope, musically and visually. “100 Bad” is the lead single from Tommy’s highly anticipated debut album, which is set to be released this year. Check out the visual for “100 Bad,” and be sure to check out the Charli XCX remix below.
